34.2 FC-40 外部自动天调概述FC-40 External Automatic Antenna Tuner

The FC-40 makes use of the control circuitry built into the transceiver, which allows the operator to control and monitor automatic operation of the FC-40, which mounts near the antenna feedpoint.

The FC-40 uses specially selected, thermally stable components, and is housed in a waterproof case to withstand severe environmental conditions with high reliability.

A carefully-chosen combination of solid-state switching components and high-speed relays allows the FC-40 to match a wide variety of antennas to within a 2:1 SWR on any amateur band frequency (160 through 6 meters), typically in less than eight seconds. Transmitter power required for matching may be as little as 4 - 60 Watts, and matching settings are automatically stored in memory for instant recall when the same frequency range is selected later.

The FC-40 cannot be connected to the FTX-1 Field configuration.

FC-40 利用收发信机内置的控制电路，让操作者可以控制并监视 FC-40 的自动运行；FC-40 安装在天线馈电点附近。

FC-40 选用经过特别筛选、热稳定性高的元器件，并封装在防水外壳中，可在恶劣环境条件下保持高可靠性。

34.3 FC-40 与 FTX-1 optima 的互连Interconnections to FTX-1 optima

After mounting the FC-40, connect the cables from the FC-40 to the ANT and TUNER jacks on the rear panel of the FTX-1 optima transceiver.

Turn OFF the external power supply switch and the FTX-1 power supply switch first, before connecting the cables.

Install the supplied ferrite core as close to the connector as possible.
Wrap the ends of the waterproof cap with the supplied sealing tape to protect against moisture ingress.

安装好 FC-40 后，把 FC-40 引出的线缆连接到 FTX-1 optima 收发信机后面板的 ANT 与 TUNER 端子上。

连接线缆之前，请先关闭外部电源开关和 FTX-1 的电源开关。

附带的铁氧体磁环应尽量靠近连接器安装。

34.4 FC-40 的收发信机设置Setting Up the Transceiver for the FC-40

The optional FC-40 Automatic Antenna Tuner provides automatic tuning of a coaxial line to present nominal 50-ohm impedance to the FTX-1 optima's ANT jack. Before tuning can begin, the FTX-1 optima must be configured to recognize that the FC-40 is being used.

Press and hold the [FUNC] knob.
Select [OPERATION SETTING] → [GENERAL] → [TUNER SELECT].
Rotate the [FUNC] knob, or touch "<" or ">" on either side of the value, to select "OPTION".
Press the [FUNC] knob, or wait about 3 seconds, to save the setting.
Select [OPERATION SETTING] → [OPTION] → [TUNER TYPE SEL ANT1] or [TUNER TYPE SEL ANT2].
Rotate the [FUNC] knob, or touch "<" or ">" on either side of the value, to select "EXT".
Press the [FUNC] knob, or wait about 3 seconds, to save the setting.
Press the [BACK] key several times to return to normal operation.

INT selects the internal antenna tuner (an external antenna tuner cannot be used). INT(FAST) also selects the internal antenna tuner; tuning is performed at a higher speed than normal, although accuracy is slightly reduced (an external antenna tuner cannot be used). EXT selects an external antenna tuner (the optional FC-40, etc.). ATAS selects the active tuning antenna system ATAS-120A.

INT 表示使用内置天调（此时不能使用外部天调）。INT(FAST) 同样表示使用内置天调，调谐速度比正常更快，但精度略有降低（此时不能使用外部天调）。EXT 表示使用外部天调（选购件 FC-40 等）。ATAS 表示使用有源调谐天线系统 ATAS-120A。

34.5 FC-40 调谐操作FC-40 Tuning Operation

Depending on the installation and location of some antennas, it may not be possible to tune to a low SWR.

Press and hold the [FUNC] knob.
Touch [TUNER]. A "TUNE" icon will appear in the display, and the tuner function is activated.
Touch [ANT TUNE] to begin automatic tuning. The transmitter will be engaged, and "TUNE" will blink while tuning is in progress.
Touch [TUNE] to disengage the ATU from the transmit line.

When the optimum tuning point has been reached, the transceiver will return to receive, and the "TUNER" icon will again glow steadily (instead of blinking).

根据某些天线的架设方式与安装位置，可能无法调谐到较低的 SWR。

34.6 FC-80 自动天调FC-80 Automatic Antenna Tuner

The FC-80 Automatic Antenna Tuner responds to control commands from the FTX-1 Field transceiver, providing microprocessor-based impedance matching on the 160 through 6 meter Amateur bands.

The FC-80 cannot be connected to the FTX-1 optima configuration.

The battery and antenna tuner "FC-80" (optional) can be installed at the same time, so antenna tuning can be performed even in field operation.

FC-80 自动天调响应来自 FTX-1 Field 收发信机的控制指令，在 160 m 至 6 m 业余波段上提供基于微处理器的阻抗匹配。

FC-80 不能连接到 FTX-1 optima 配置。

FC-80 与 FTX-1 的互连Interconnections to the FTX-1

The FC-80 is an HF/50MHz 10W automatic antenna tuner supplied with a spacer, and is installed inside the FTX-1 Field body together with the battery pack. Because it is controlled directly by the FTX-1 Field, no external control cable or separate power lead is required — only the antenna is connected to the ANT (HF/50MHz) terminal of the Field head.

The FC-80 provides up to 10 W class automatic tuning on HF and 50 MHz for the FTX-1 Field.

FC-80 是附带垫片的 HF/50MHz 10 W 自动天调，与电池组一同安装在 FTX-1 Field 机身内部。由于它由 FTX-1 Field 直接控制，因此不需要外部控制线或单独的电源线，只需把天线接到 Field 头部的 ANT (HF/50MHz) 端子即可。

避坑指南 · 外置天调的常见错误PITFALL ① 机型对不上：FC-40 只能接 FTX-1 optima，FC-80 只能装在 FTX-1 Field，两者都不能交叉使用；买错型号是最高频的失误。② 菜单没改就调谐：[TUNER SELECT] 没设为 OPTION、或 [TUNER TYPE SEL ANT1/ANT2] 没设为 EXT 时，机器会去调内置天调（或根本不调），表现出来就是"怎么按 [ANT TUNE] 都没反应"或 SWR 一直很高。改完 EXT 后，内置天调已不能使用，不要指望两者同时工作。③ 调谐时功率/模式不对：调谐会自动占用发射机，请把功率放在天调要求的范围内，别在大功率、或 AM/FM 等不适合调谐的模式上强行调谐；FC-40 匹配所需功率低至 4 ~ 60 W，无需开大。④ 频率不在覆盖范围内就反复调：FC-40/FC-80 覆盖 160 m ~ 6 m，在 144/430 MHz 上按 [ANT TUNE] 是徒劳的。⑤ 线缆接错与接地缺失：控制线（Control Cable）必须接 TUNER 端子、天线电缆（Antenna Cable）接 ANT 端子，接反不会调谐；FC-40 的 GND 端子不接大地/地网，长线很难调到低 SWR。⑥ 忘记装铁氧体磁环与防水密封胶带，长期使用易进水和引入共模干扰。⑦ 调谐时天线附近有人或天线搭到金属物，先处理安全隐患再调。 (1) Wrong model: the FC-40 works only with the FTX-1 optima and the FC-80 only inside the FTX-1 Field — they are not interchangeable, and buying the wrong one is the most common mistake. (2) Tuning before changing the menu: if [TUNER SELECT] is not set to OPTION, or [TUNER TYPE SEL ANT1/ANT2] is not set to EXT, the radio will try to tune the internal tuner (or not tune at all), so pressing [ANT TUNE] appears to do nothing or SWR stays high. Once EXT is selected the internal tuner cannot be used — do not expect both to work. (3) Wrong power or mode while tuning: tuning keys the transmitter automatically, so keep power within the range the tuner requires and do not force tuning at high power or in a mode unsuitable for tuning; the FC-40 needs only 4 to 60 W to match. (4) Repeatedly tuning outside the coverage: FC-40/FC-80 cover 160 m through 6 m, so pressing [ANT TUNE] on 144/430 MHz accomplishes nothing. (5) Wrong cables and missing ground: the control cable goes to the TUNER jack and the antenna cable to the ANT jack — swapping them prevents tuning; without the FC-40 GND terminal bonded to earth or a counterpoise, a long wire is hard to match to low SWR. (6) Do not skip the supplied ferrite core and sealing tape, or you risk moisture ingress and common-mode noise over time. (7) Make sure nobody is near the antenna and that it is not touching metal before you tune.

34.7 ATAS-120A 有源调谐天线系统Active-Tuning Antenna System (ATAS-120A)

ATAS-120A is a multi-band auto-tuning antenna that can be used in the amateur bands from the HF band to the UHF band (7/14/21/28(29)/50/144/430). Using the active tuning mechanism, tuning can be carried out automatically by the control signal from the FTX-1.

The ATAS-120A cannot be used when operating on the Li-Ion Battery Pack SBR-52LI power alone for the FTX-1 Field. An external 13.8V power supply must be used.

Connect "ATAS-120A" to the ANT terminal of the FTX-1 with a coaxial cable.

To switch between ANT 1 and ANT 2, press and hold the [FUNC] knob → touch [ANT].

ATAS-120A 是一款多波段自动调谐天线，可用于从业余 HF 波段到 UHF 波段（7/14/21/28(29)/50/144/430 MHz）。利用有源调谐机构，可由 FTX-1 发出的控制信号自动完成调谐。

The "ATAS" icon will appear in the display. When attaching the Field head to the SPA-1 and using the SPA-1's built-in tuner, change the above setting to "OPTION".

自动调谐与手动调谐Tuning Operation and Manual Tuning

The tuning of the ATAS-120A is carried out automatically. When using the ATAS-120A for the first time, or when tuning for the first time after resetting the FTX-1, tuning is not performed for about 1 minute until the FTX-1 recognizes the ATAS-120A, even if [ANT TUNE] is touched. Tuning is performed after recognizing the ATAS-120A.

Press the [TUNE] key to begin automatic tuning. The transmitter will be engaged, and the "ATAS" icon will blink while tuning is in progress. When the optimum tuning point has been reached, the transceiver will return to receive, and the "ATAS" icon will again glow steadily (instead of blinking).

Manual tuning: press the PTT switch on the microphone to transmit, and then press the UP/DWN button on the microphone to adjust the antenna until the meter indicates the minimum SWR. The meter on the screen will automatically change to the SWR meter.

ATAS-120A 的调谐是自动进行的。首次使用 ATAS-120A，或在复位 FTX-1 后首次调谐时，即使触摸 [ANT TUNE]，在 FTX-1 识别出 ATAS-120A 之前的约 1 分钟内不会执行调谐；识别之后才进行调谐。

技术提示 / TIP ATAS-120A 首次上电或复位后"按了 [ANT TUNE] 没反应"，通常不是故障：FTX-1 需要约 1 分钟识别天线，识别完成后再按才会调谐——先等一分钟，再看 "ATAS" 图标是否稳定点亮。用 Field 头部配 SPA-1 时记得把 [TUNER SELECT] 改回 "OPTION"，否则机器会一直等一个并不存在的 ATAS。手动调谐只在发射状态下有效（按住 PTT），并且要看屏幕自动切成的 SWR 表，而不是别的仪表。 If the ATAS-120A does not respond to [ANT TUNE] right after first power-on or after a reset, this is usually normal: the FTX-1 needs about one minute to recognize the antenna, and tuning starts only afterwards — wait a minute and check whether the "ATAS" icon glows steadily. When using the Field head with the SPA-1, set [TUNER SELECT] back to "OPTION", otherwise the radio keeps waiting for an ATAS that is not there. Manual tuning works only while transmitting (PTT held) and you must read the SWR meter that the display switches to automatically, not some other meter.

34.8 蓝牙单元 BU-6Bluetooth Unit BU-6

The FTX-1 can be equipped with the Bluetooth function by installing the optional Bluetooth unit "BU-6". Hands-free operation is possible using the optional Bluetooth headset (SSM-BT20) or a commercially available Bluetooth headset.

The BU-6 consists of a BU-5 and a cover exclusively for the FTX-1.

Turn the transceiver OFF.
Remove the Bluetooth unit cover from the transceiver.
Apply double-sided tape to the Bluetooth unit. Double-sided tape is included with the BU-6.
Align the Bluetooth unit connector with the connector on the board and install.
Carefully attach the supplied cover.

FTX-1 通过安装选购件蓝牙单元 "BU-6" 即可具备蓝牙功能。使用选购件蓝牙耳机（SSM-BT20）或市售蓝牙耳机，可实现免提操作。

BU-6 由 BU-5 与 FTX-1 专用盖板组成。

After installing the BU-6, the Bluetooth headset can be paired with the FTX-1; while connected, the Bluetooth icon lights up on the FTX-1 screen and the received audio and operation beep will be heard from the Bluetooth headset. With the VOX function turned ON, hands-free transmit is possible just by talking (see "VOX Operation"). With VOX OFF, pressing the "Call button" on the headset engages transmit; press it again to return to receive.

装好 BU-6 后，可将蓝牙耳机与 FTX-1 配对；连接期间 FTX-1 屏幕上蓝牙图标点亮，接收音频与操作提示音会从蓝牙耳机中听到。开启 VOX 功能后，只需说话即可免提发射（参见"VOX 操作"）。VOX 关闭时，按耳机上的"呼叫按钮"进入发射，再按一次回到接收。

34.9 侧向提手 MHG-1Side Carry Handle MHG-1

The side carry handle MHG-1 is mounted with the supplied mounting screws at both ends of the handle.

Do not use an improper screw for mounting the MHG-1! An improper screw may cause a "short circuit" to the internal circuitry, causing serious damage!

安装 MHG-1 时请勿使用不合适的螺钉！不合适的螺钉可能导致内部电路"短路"，造成严重损坏！

避坑指南 / PITFALL 安装 MHG-1 只能用随附件提供的螺钉。螺钉过长会顶到内部电路板或电池仓造成短路，这类损坏不在保修范围内，且往往一上电就烧毁。拆装 BU-6、MHG-1 之前务必关机，并记住盖板的原始位置——装回时若盖板压住排线，可能出现蓝牙失灵或接触不良。 Use only the supplied screws when mounting the MHG-1. A screw that is too long can reach the internal board or the battery compartment and cause a short circuit — such damage is not covered by the warranty and often destroys the radio as soon as power is applied. Always power the transceiver OFF before installing or removing the BU-6 or MHG-1, and note the original position of the cover: if the cover pinches a flex cable when refitted, Bluetooth may fail or make intermittent contact.
